Infants/Toddlers Week of May 30th

So happy to say our infants and toddlers are growing by leaps and bounds!! So many of our babies are now crawling all over, and out toddlers are sitting so nicely during circle time!! We are having so much fun watching them grow!

We are also in the process of having the playground resurfaced!! Our little ones love going out and enjoying the beautiful weather! We can’t wait to have the playground done soon!Please check the calendar for upcoming events!!!

Two’s Room Week of May 30th : Miss Debbie

This week in the two’s we will be learning about safety! We all know that safety comes first!! That is why we dedicated a whole week to learning about safety. During the week we will talk about safety rules and what to do in an emergency. We will be practicing how to look and listen for cars while crossing the street and we will be learning about 911 and when to use it. Then we will be starting to learn our phone numbers!!

Three’s Room Week of May 30th : Miss Dana

This week in the three’s room we will be learning about Ms. U and her sound. Then we will be doing different things involving water like playing with toys in the water table, splashing in the water and enjoying the sounds that water make. We will also be using watercolors and eyedroppers to make our projects this week. There will even be a taste test in which we will be trying different types of juices to see if we can find out what they are. Finally depending on the weather hopefully we can get outside for some WATER FUNNN

Pre-K Week of May 30th: Miss Trish

This week is all about letters and letter sounds- we will be reviewing everything we have learned this year!  There will be phonics games such as letters “face-off”.  Being that it is a short week with school closed on Monday for Memorial Day, we will have a lot of material to cover in 4 days!

Kindergraten Week of May 30th : Miss Danielle

This week in kindergarten we will be focusing on reviewing our letters and numbers!! (We will also be starting our end of the year evaluations) We are in full swing with graduation practice and doing great! Finally we end this week with our much anticipated kindergarten field trip to the Bronx Zoo and we can’t wait! Please look for out for our Fathers Day project that will be sent home to start of this great month of June!!

Waddlers/Toddlers Week of May 30th

One month left before the school year is over and we have mastered our colors and shapes flash cards.  We are now working on recognizing our names! During June we will be working on size. (what is small, medium and/or large)

Although our toddlers are too young to be out and about by themselves, it’s never to early to stress these simple rules about safety. The first rule we learn is do not talk to someone you don’t know when your parents or guardian is not there. Next we learn police officers are our friends and we need to wear sunscreen in the hot summer sun! Finally when we are walking any place we should hold someone’s hand.

We will also be learning the colors of the traffic light red means to stop, green means go and yellow means slow down!!

Infants Week of May 30th

Hooray!!!!!! We have some exciting news about our Infant Room this month!  Noah has taken his first steps and is now on his way to walking.  Emma will be turning 1 and she is very mobile and on her way to walking.  We would also like to welcome three new babies to our room Alexander, Daniel and Cameron! We are super excited to have our new friends!  Now that the nice weather is approaching we will be going outside for walks and playing on the playground.  We will also be introducing the children to the sensory of water time!!  Water is soothing, water toys stimulate play, and the splashing and slapping of water produces interesting reactions from our little ones.  We will also have a small wading pool for them to play in.  This is an activity that will be done two days a week during the summer! We are very excited for the month of June!!

Kindergarten Week of May 30th Miss Kimmie

Happy Memorial Day! We will enjoy a day off and then jump right back into singing our graduation songs and learning our movements.  Also this week, we will be studying some famous artists.  We will read about Van Gogh, DaVinci, OKeefe and Michaelangelo.  Then we will use our smartboard to look at different pieces of art.  Finally we will enjoy pretending to be the famous artists.  We will paint self portraits jsut as Van Gogh did.  Next, we will draw buildings like Da Vinci.  As our art work is complete, we will take turns using the blocks and legos trying to actually create our drawings.  When we study O’Keefe we will enjoy using watercolors to paint beautiful flowers.  Finally, we will tape paper under the table and lie on our backs as Michaelangelo did while painting.

Although we will be doing a lot of art, we will leave plenty of time to review our academics, complete our daily fix its and fine tune all of the skills we have mastered this year. Happy June!

Pre-K Week of May 30th: Miss Kristen

This week in Miss Kristen’s Pre-k class we will be wrapping up our year with a letter review! All week long we will be reviewing our letters, letter sounds and numbers! We will also review writing our names, letters, practicing our phone numbers and of course graduation practice! We will be working on a special letter book and making our favorite letter out of fun material in the classroom!  We will also be making pigs in a blanket and enjoys some fun and silly books!! This week is full of fun !!!

Pre-K Week of May 30th : Miss Jen

Graduation is around the corner, it is on Wednesday June 22^nd.   We will be practicing daily for graduation and continuing our review of the letters and numbers.  It is such a busy and exciting month.  Ice cream Day occurs during June, on Thursdays, so look out for the sign-up sheets.  Please send in water bottles for your kids to bring outside with them as the weather is getting warmer.  There will be lots of celebrations this month along with graduation.  First on Friday June 10^th we will be having the Letter People celebration.  Next, on Tuesday June 8^th it is Field Day; there will be lots of fun activities for the kids.  Then on Friday June 17^th, we will be celebrating Dads for Father’s Day with “Doughnuts for Dads”.  Before graduation we will be talking about kindergarten and the summer.

I enjoyed spending the school year with your children and I will miss them dearly.  I wish them the best of luck in kindergarten.  Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.  Enjoy the Summer! J
