Waddlers/Toddlers Week of April 25th

This week in the waddlers/toddlers room we will be learning about community helpers! As the sesame Street song goes “Who are the people in your neighborhood, the people that we meet each day!!” That’s what we will be doing all week, meeting community helpers through pictures and books about people who are in our town!!!!

Kindergarten Week of April 25th Miss Danielle

In Miss Danielle’s class this week we will continue with learning about the ocean!! We will dive into math and lots of art projects will be created as well as focusing on the letter Y.  Next we will start A Mother’s Day project that will be sent home later in the week to be displayed in our classrom when finished so please keep your eyes out for this fun project!!!

Pre-K Week of April 25th Miss Trish

This week we will be doing a science experiment with light and dark using flashlights.  We will also talk about how sometimes we are afraid of the dark, for example after we hear a scary ghost story!  Then we will do an experiment to prove that everything that is in the dark, is there in the light, and nothing “magically appears” out of nowhere, just because it is dark!  This week also includes a visit from Mr. Rohe, Learning all about Ms. L and her longest laugh, more math skill builders, and a movement activity called “A Shadow Poem”.

Three’s Room Week of April 25th Miss Dana

This week in Miss Dana’s class we will be learning about the letter Z and Zoo animals. We will be picking out our favorite zoo animal and making a mask. Then we will use our zoo masks in our imaginary trip to the “K2K Zoo”!! Finally for a special snack we will be having animal crackers and “Jungle Juice” (Jungle Juice is fruit punch, sprite and sherbet).

Two’s Room Week of April 25th Miss Debbie

This week in the two’s room we will be talking about all the different people that help out in our community. During this week we will be pretending that we are people in the community such as police officer, firefighter, baker, teacher and doctor. For a special snack we will be making pudding!!! Yummm Yummm!!!!

Pre-K Week of April 25th Miss Jen

We will be laughing a lot and learning about light and dark with Ms. L.  We will need sunglasses and flashlights as we will be conducting class in the light, outside, and in the dark with the shades down and lights out. Also, we will be discussing day and night in relation to the earth and sun.  For art we will be painting with glow in the dark paints.  We will be telling jokes all week so if your child has a favorite one, they can tell the class.  For cooking we will be making sun cookies and fresh squeezed lemonade!!!

Pre-K Week of April 25th Miss Kristen

This is a very special week in Miss Kristen’s class.  We will be learning about the difference between light and dark. For a fun science experiment we will be putting a corn kernel in two bags and placing one bag in the dark and other in the light to see if a plant can grow better in the dark or in the sun. We can wait to chart what happens! We will also be making a man on the moon snack and sun cookies. Finally we learn about the letter L and we will be having a special day in the dark and a day on the sun!!

Three’s Room Week Of April 25th Miss Trish

This week in the three’s room we will be learning about zoo animals and Mr. Z. Through out the week, we will be turning our classroom into the Thrilling Three’s Zoo. Next, we will be making zip-lock bag zoo animal picture books. We will also be making zip-lock bean bags and having relay races to help children further develop gross motor skills and increase balance and movement.  Finally, we will close out our week by enjoying some delicious monkey bread and completing our animal chart.

Two’s Room Week of April 25th Miss Blake

This week’s theme is community workers in Miss Blake’s room.  We will be charting all the different community workers like a fireman, police officer, teacher, and garbage men. Then we will also be learning the proper vocabulary to represent these workers.  We will also learn how to  “stop, drop, and roll” and other fire safety tips. Finally we will be singing and dancing to make learning about community workers fun and exciting!!!

Waddlers/Toddlers Week of April 18th

It’s never to early to make children aware of the planet earth! We’re going to be taking a walk to find flowers and different tress this week and learn the names of the plants around the building. We will also be looking around to see if we can spot any trash on your playground and do our part by cleaning it up! Finally our spring fling party in on April 20, 2011- watch for a sign up sheet!!
